The Section has always had an excellent reputation for organising first class camping events with good ‘craic’
For many years the Lochearnhead Bunkhouse Weekends in January and May were an established part of the Calendar.
The converted station buildings provided a focal point for exchanging gossip in front of a real log fire.
Club members often travelling long distances in ice and snow.
For many years the first camping event of the year was held in March at Glenluce often in snow this was followed
by the Scottish Double in June with The Longest Day Rally in Ullapool followed by Fort Augustus and later years
the Ballater Gathering the following weekend. The Glen Coe Gathering at the end of September was also a very popular event.
For several years Nigel MacDonald’s Rathad Run, was held in various locations at different times during the spring and summer,
this became a very popular event with a commemorative glass being issued to those completing the weekend.
In recent years a May Hotel weekend has been included on the Calendar. This 3 day event attracts well over a
120 members from many Sections of the Club.
The Scottish Section recognises that not everyone camps and tries to offer a variety of accommodation at all events.
The Section also welcomes everyone who has an interest in BMW Motorcycles whether they are new, Classic or Vintage.
We also welcome those that are unable to ride for various reasons.
