You may join any time of the year but as from the 1st November 2023, The BMW Club will utilise a fixed membership year when all members will have an expiry date of 31st January. For those joining part of the way through a year they will be entitled to a reduction in membership fees depending on the month they join to ensure alignment with the fixed expiry date of 31st January.
BMW Club membership is open to anyone aged 18 or over, who currently owns, or who has previously owned or has an interest in BMW motorcycles.
There are many reasons you should join, here are the highlights:
Full UK Membership currently costs £35 sterling per year for residents of the British Isles, that is The United Kingdom of Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Channel Isles and the Isle of Man. Members of the Armed Forces posted abroad also count as UK residents if they have a BFPO address.
Associate membership is available to the adult partner of a full member, for an extra £4 sterling per year (making it joint membership).
Membership for people living in Ireland costs £41 sterling per year (+ £4 for an associate).
(Please note that if you wish to join the Irish Section and would rather pay in Euros then please contact the Irish section directly, details can be found here and it currently costs €48 per year and €5 for an associate.)
Overseas membership currently costs £41 sterling per year (+ £4 for an associate).
(if paid online from a non-sterling account the exchange rate is set by your card issuer)
All of the above prices are for a full year of membership, if you join part way through a year then the cost of joining is discounted as shown in the table below.
Persons ceasing to be a member during the year are not entitled to a refund of subscriptions.
Just because the pro-rata discounting of the main membership fee can be a little confusing here is a little table of the fees for joining through the year. † Whilst people joining in November, December or January pay the full fee they also get the remainder of the current membership year for free and don't have to renew until the following January (getting 15, 14 or 13 months for the price of 12):
Please note that this table mainly covers the UK sections, if you wish to join the Irish section then the prices are shown in the table but you should click here to contact the Irish membership secretary and pay them direct.
(If you are an existing member trying to work out how much renewal will cost you then you can use the above table *BUT* remember that the fee payable is based on your current expiry date *NOT* the date you pay so if your current membership expires in January you will pay the January fee regardless of whether you renew in December, January or February.)
