For this end of season rally we could not have had better weather, which always makes for a better social atmosphere, and ride outs much more enjoyable.

The Rally was well attended with 27 people overnighting at the race course camping site, and another half dozen at least staying at B&B’s in and around Fakenham (most an easy walk from the campsite). Altogether with all the day visitors who dropped in over the rally period (sorry to those who popped in and found the campsite empty!), there were around 50 attendees.

As well as EA members there were representatives from around the country. Furthest travelled was probably Keith from Somerset who is a Western Section Member.

Saturday morning, several groups went for ride outs around some of the Norfolk roads and found villages that even the locals did not know about. The Bike competition on the Saturday Afternoon was a great focus and certainly got people mixing and talking bikes. In this fun competition there were 2 classes – Last Century Bikes of which 3 entered and This Century Bikes of which 10 were entered.

The 2 Winners are:

Best Last Century Bike: John and Sheila Williams, from the Midland Section, with their 1976 R 90/6 with which they had travelled widely in North America before importing into the UK in 2014.

Best This Century Bike: Trevor Smith, from the East Anglia Section, with his 2001 BMW K1200RS.

Thanks to the Gallow Bar for providing food and drink and a friendly service, and to the Fakenham Racecourse campsite for again a friendly service and allowing us erect our Gazebo to socialise and the space to show off our bikes.
