East Anglia Section AGM

Sunday 9th October 2022

10:00am for 10:30am start at Fornham St Martin Village Hall

The format of these meetings is the same each year though the content often varies as you can imagine.  For the actual Agenda of the meeting click here, but in short it goes like this:

  1. Welcome, headcount, apologies

  2. Accepting last year's minutes

  3. Reports from the main committee members

  4. Elections of the following year's committee (you need to be present to vote)

  5. Items requiring a vote (you need to be present to vote)

  6. Nominations for trophies

  7. A.O.B. (discussions not requiring a vote)

  8. Set the date for next year's AGM (second Sunday on October usually) and Close meeting

Please read on for a little more detail:

We are in a good position this year that most of the current committee are willing to remain in their posts for another year. However we do need a new Vintage & Classic Rep so if you are interested then please let the Chair know at least 2 weeks before the meeting (it should be 30 days before but I am a little more flexible).

This is a table of the committee positions showing who has already expressed an interest in holding/retaining them next year.  Have a look at the "job descriptions" here and then please consider standing for one if not this year then perhaps next.  Please contact any of the existing committee if you would like to know more about what is involved in each role:

Position Nominee ProposerSeconder
Chairman/Secretary Ian Sparks Cliff Hoy Dik Langan
Social Secretary Mike Dignum Ian Sparks Cliff Hoy
Treasurer Peter Wilson Amanda Langan Cliff Hoy
Membership Secretary
NC Rep
Dik Langan Ian Sparks Amanda Langan
Assistant Social Secretary Vacant
Committee member Cliff Hoy Mike Dignum Dik Langan
Committee member Kenneth Buchanan Cliff Hoy Dik Langan

If you would like to stand for any of the above positions (even the ones that already have a nominee) please do not hesitate to contact the current Chair two weeks before the meeting ideally with the name of a fellow club member as proposer because technically you can volunteer but you cannot propose yourself :)

Regardless of whether you want to be directly involved in the committee or not, you should come along and hear what is discussed and even have your say.

Don't Forget, this is YOUR club!

Ideally, if you have something you would like to discuss with the group then it would be great if you could let the Chair know beforehand so they can add it to the agenda, but smaller topics are often covered in the "Any Other Business" at the end or down the pub later.

There is now a page on this site where you can access all the recent Agendas, Minutes and Annual Accounts. Just click here or select "AGM Files" from the Features menu.

As always, tea, coffee and biscuits are laid on 30 mins before the meeting.
