Membership
Renewals
You will receive a reminder to renew
in your Journal, it is usually a paper form and if you deal with it when it
arrives then you know it is done and dusted for another year.
Whichever way you
decide to renew you will need to know your membership number, it's on the
the paper form and also on the address label that comes with your Journal but if you have lost that and
can't find your membership card then contact the membership secretary and
they'll find it for you. Here are the ways you can renew:
- Online
Just visit this web page on the National site and follow the instructions:
http://www.thebmwclub.org.uk/renew
Some members have had a little difficulty with this process, here are the common issues:
- Don't know your membership number? Look on the envelope/wrapper your Journal came in,
just above your name is a number (on the left - ignore the numbers on
the right) it'll be something like "123", this is your membership number. If you have thrown away the wrapper already then you can contact the
Membership Secretary and
I'll find your number for you (I'll need your name and 1st line of
address)
- Don't know your section? If you contact the
Membership Secretary
they can confirm which section you are in, but hopefully you are in East
Anglia hence looking at our pages, but if not then you can always
transfer to East Anglia just by letting the
Membership Secretary know
- "First line of Address" must be exactly as it
appears on the wrapper your Journal comes in (so if there is no
comma in your address there then don't enter one on the web page).
We've tried to improve it so it is less finickity but having your
Journal wrapper to hand is by far the best idea
- You paid by Standing Order last year and may have cancelled it
but forgotten to tell us - either that or the Standing Order hasn't
been processed yet, or perhaps it was for the wrong amount (you
would be amazed by how many people still have standing orders for
£27 and we have to chase them up for the missing money) - I
recommend you cancel the Standing Order and pay by bank transfer
(see below)
If you are still stuck then you can resort to sending in your renewal form with a cheque or
contact the
Membership Secretary
and they might be able to help you find out why the online process is not
working for you.
- By Post
Just send in the renewal form (which was the paper slip in with your Journal)
along with a cheque made payable to "The BMW Club" with your membership
number on the back.
If you have recycled that form already then please contact the Membership
Secretary who will be able to sort it out for you
- Pay by PayPal
If you have a PayPal account then you can also renew by PayPal, all you have to do is transfer the correct amount
(currently - Jan 2021 - £32 for the member plus £3 if you have an associate/pillion
member) to the national treasurer's PayPal account "treasurer@bmwclubuk.net"
and make sure you add a comment for the payment stating your name and membership number
otherwise the poor treasurer will not know who is paying him and you will
not get renewed.
- Pay by Bank Transfer
Contact the Membership
Secretary who will provide you with the Club's bank account details and
then just make a payment online making sure you quote your membership
number in the transaction reference (so the Treasurer knows who is
paying and therefore which member to renew)
